About Melissa Muller Daka

I am a restauranteur, professional cook and writer. I owe my passion for food to my childhood summers in rural Sicily, where I learned the value of being connected to the land. I am a firm believer that we are what we eat, and that good eating is a cornerstone of living a long and healthful life. I'm the Chef Proprietor of Eolo and Pastai, both located in Chelsea, New York City. I hold a B.A. and M.S. in Journalism from Columbia University and a degree in Culinary Arts and Bread-making from the French Culinary Institute. Along with running my two restaurants, I'm hard at work on my first cookbook about Sicilian food and wine.
